The Forest of Tethyr, better known as the Wealdath, covers much off northern and western Tethyr, including the large peninsula north of Firedrake Bay.
The forest is home to two sizable tribes of elves, the Suldusk and the Elmanesse. Most of the elves living in the Wealdath are wood elves, but there are quite a few moon elves, some wild elves, and even a few sun elves. Their exact numbers aren't known by outsiders, but they probably number at least in the thousands.
Aside from the elves, the Wealdath is populated by many fey creatures, who tend to protect the forest even more zealously than the elves do. Some small tribes of gnolls also roam the forest, and it's rumored that lycanthropes prowl the area as well. The most dangerous occupants of all, though, are likely the dragons. And there are at least four known to make their homes somewhere in the Wealdath.
Some say that the forest also contains portals to the plane of the lythari, a race of elven shapeshifters. However, nobody knows where these portals might be, and certainly only the lythari would be the only ones who can activate them.
