With a population of well over 100,000 people, Zazesspur is the largest city in Tethyr.
A coastal city straddling the mouth of the River Sulduskoon on both sides, Zazesspur is a natural center of commerce. Because of its mercantile nature, the city is a blend of both Tethyrian and Calishite cultures, as well as many other cultural influences. All around, it's a pretty cosmopolitan city, at least compared to the rest of Tethyr.
Unfortunately, being a port city also means having problems with pirates, and Zazesspur is no exception. The Nelanther Isles, a renowned pirate haven, are located directly west of Tethyr, and although the city of Velen is much closer and more convenient for the pirates to attack, Zazesspur does have its troubles with them.
Zazesspur is ruled by a council of lords, most of whom are resentful of the loss of prestige their city has experienced since the capital was moved to Darromar.
