Angar "Steeleye" Axeson is a gruff old dwarf, the best smith in Mosstone and also the mayor. His most distinguising feature is the steel orb that replaces his missing right eye, although the nickname Steeleye actually predates the loss of his eye. The nickname originates both from his excellent craftsmanship as well as the steely stare he gives while negotiating prices for his work.
Almost everyone in Mosstone knows Steeleye and his story. He lost his eye in the Reclamation Wars, fighting on the side of Queen Zaranda's forces against some half-orc mercenaries in Myratma. Though he lost his right eye in the battle, it's said he melted down the swords of the half-orcs after slaying them, to make a new suit of mail for himself which he now displays proudly in the front of his shop.
Although he is gruff even by dwarven standards and drives a hard bargain for his work, Steeleye is good-hearted and fair, and as a result the whole town likes and respects him.
