Nym used to be Sam's character, but since she doesn't play with us anymore, the character has become an NPC. She could take him over again if she wants to, but I don't think it's particularly likely.
Nym Eveningfall is a sun elf and cleric of Ilmater, the god of suffering (and the relieving thereof). He joined the group when Tyrrox Zym and Vanemuine Kuu came to Nym's church in the city of Zazesspur, looking for someone to come to what was then still called Castle Tethyr and provide healing, as well as creating food and water. Nym felt he could do more good and relieve more suffering if he went out into the world instead of staying in his church, and the head priest gave his blessing for the junior priest to go.
Nym fit in well with the group, though he was ambivalent about traveling with a necromancer. He concluded that Thallatos was not a bad person in spite of his use of dark magic, but asked the advice of a more experienced priest in this matter. He was told that he could stay with the group, but should lightly flog himself and wear uncomfortable clothing in order to avoid becoming too at ease with such a character.
After the group gained ownership of the castle and rechristened it Heavenforth Manor, Nym devoted himself fully to taking care of the local population there. He created as much food and water as he could, and attempted to fill the newly constructed water tower with his magic. However, keeping up with the water needs of the Manor's steadily increasing population is a full-time job.
Nym also tends to any medical needs that the various workers, guards, or other people living at the Manor may have. He is aided in this by Tamuril Arkirian, who puts her gentle nature, love of dancing, and above all skill at herbalism to use in raising spirits and tending to wounds.
As the drought in Tethyr has worsened, the entire Church of Ilmater in Tethyr has instituted mandatory fasting for its clergy. They are allowed to eat and drink only the minimum to allow them to keep functioning, and to put the needs of others before themselves. As a result, Nym has lost a lot of weight and become a bit more frail than he used to be, though he has accepted it with as much good cheer as he can manage. His stick-like frame is a constant fixture at Heavenforth Manor, where he tends to his ever-increasing flock and tries to take their myriad sufferings onto himself to bear them.
