Perrault Llanistaph is the nephew of Lord Tardeth Llanistaph, Duke of Suretmarch, the Lord Just Chancellor of Tethyr and highest legal official under Queen Zaranda Star-Rhindaun.
With his uncle’s position, Perrault had an easy time receiving legal training and becoming certified to practice law. He has become a rising star in Darromar, where he acts as a prosecutor for the state, hoping to use his position as a stepping stone to becoming a magistrate and hopefully eventually succeeding his uncle as Just Chancellor.
In the course of his own legal work, Leon Letum has run across Perrault more than once before. He knows Perrault to be snobbish, very much the picture of old nobility looking down on the "common folk."
Having been born into the intrigues and deceptions that go along with nobility (remember the name of this board after all), Perrault is a natural when it comes to bluffing, sensing deception, and ferreting out information.
While he's certainly a competent lawyer, Perrault's true strength is the extensive network of family connections and wealth he can bring to bear to get the information and witnesses he needs. And Perrault loves to name drop and use his family's influence to get an advantage.
