Though most of those who have encountered him know Maegor as a tanned young man with a mop of messy black hair and a lopsided grin, those who have seen his true form know that he is actually a bronze dragon who just likes to take human form.
In his human form, Maegor looks like a young man of eighteen or nineteen, with darkly tanned skin and a mop of windblown black hair. He has a lean but muscular body, and most commonly dresses in loose-fitting pants and a vest, otherwise remaining bare-chested. The only clue that he might be more than he seems are his golden eyes.
Maegor is friendly and personable, and actually prefers the company of humanoids to his own kind. However, he has recently discovered that he is not particularly fond of centaurs or flying elves.
Though he spends a lot of his time visiting human cities, particularly along the coast of Tethyr, Maegor actually lives in an underwater cave about 20 miles north of Myratma. His lair there is protected by a few magical wards, but its greatest defense is the dragon himself.
The party's first interaction with Maegor was at the dance competition in Myratma, where he entered as a participant. Maegor had no serious expectation that he would win, and no particular desire for the prize - he just entered for fun. When the contest broke down in a riot, he happily wandered out onto the stage and joined the fight, wielding a size-changing longspear that he had carried behind his ear the way some people stash a pencil or cigarette.
Later on, Maegor intercepted Tyrrox, Vanemuine, and Torgeth as they fled eastward. Maegor had a message for the unconscious Torgeth, and reluctantly led the entire group to his underwater lair in order that he might have a discussion with Torgeth.
The dragonborn was the only one to fully see Maegor's true form, and so the others don't seem to believe Torgeth that their host was not some kind of kraken or sea hag.
