Right now I'm sitting here trying to reconstruct some of the files and stats and such that I had for my game before my last computer died on me. I lost not only my list of everyone's magical gear and my planned encounters for the near future, but also records of every Guild mission the party has taken on, writeups for every single important NPC that has been introduced in the game and a few that haven't, and even full character sheets for more than a dozen characters.
I don't need to get all of that back right away, but I need some of it and want to get the rest back when I can. It's an incredibly daunting amount of work (my own fault since I like to have all this stuff written down to organize my thoughts, rather than just keeping it in my head), and it's very discouraging to think of all the things I had that I won't be able to recreate exactly the way I had it before.
The one thing that makes it worthwhile, in the face of all that work and the scheduling problems of trying to get five people able to be in the same room at the same time for the better part of a day, is you guys.
The good things you've said about the game, the inside jokes that this campaign spawned that are still going, and the excitement for playing your characters again, are all huge inspirations to me. And for that, I just want to thank you guys. I know it's sappy, but it was on my mind (and it lets me put off working on the next NPC writeup for a few minutes while I make this post).
So once again, thanks for the support. Now get your damn schedules cleared so we can play already!
